In September last year, we launched our Refugee Employability Programme (REP) for refugees in Bedfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and the East of England. Our partner Reed in Partnership delivers the programme in Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Peterborough.
The programme is designed to meet the needs of refugees, providing employment and housing support, courses in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes, accredited sector-specific training courses in security and warehouse, and support in integrating into their local community. Each person is assigned a Case Manager who tailors this service to their individual needs.
Since its launch the REP programme has transformed lives, helping those who are homeless, struggling to cope with language barriers and who need help integrating into their local community. We have helped over 700 refugees across the East of England, partnered with over 125 local organisations to provide community integration support and provided training to over 435 refugees helping them to prepare for work and life in their local community.
