This sponsorship is part of a growing partnership with Newsquest, the publisher of the Southend Echo. We’re currently working with Newsquest to recruit and support an apprentice, as part of our wider commitment to helping local employers grow their talent and supporting individuals into sustainable careers.

Through our Get Set for Work programme, which also operates in Essex, and our expanding apprenticeship offer, we’re proud to play a part in supporting individuals, employers and communities across the region.

Thanks to our donation, Newsquest will also be helping raise awareness of our services in the area, enabling us to reach and support even more local residents.

At Get Set UK, we exist to remove barriers to education, employment and wellbeing. Mind of the Student shares that mission delivering school-wide mental health programmes and community-led services that equip young people with the knowledge, confidence and skills to recognise and address their own mental health needs.

Their work supports secondary schools to go beyond statutory requirements, creating a culture where mental health and wellbeing is protected, prioritised and promoted. It’s a mission that mirrors our values and reflects the kind of change we’re working to achieve across all our services.
