What was Finda’s situation?
Finda Wickert, aged 56, was referred to our Skills for Life Multiply numeracy programme by her Restart Employment Advisor Asma. Finda felt very hesitant about enrolling in the programme as she struggled with her English and felt confused with numbers, which impacted her confidence. She wanted a simplified approach to numbers which she could put into practice in her everyday life.
How did Get Set UK help?
Finda was originally enrolled in a group-based course, however, Samuel Caig, her Multiply Course Tutor spoke to her and decided it would be in her best interest to have customised one-to-one sessions allowing the course to be more structured to Finda’s needs. Once Finda became more confident, Samuel pushed her outside her comfort zone and developed real-life skills with numbers.
After completing the course, Finda secured full-time employment and visited our office to praise the Multiply team for their patience and the ability to structure the lessons to her needs.
