What was Said’s situation?
Said Azam Nasari, originally from Afghanistan was seeking refuge in the UK after fleeing his home country due to the chaos and conflict. Said was referred to the Refugee Employment Programme (REP) by his local job centre and was looking for support to rebuild his life and create a better future for his family.
REP Case Manager Abid Usmaan, assessed Said’s skills and interests and listened to his fears and frustration to create a personal plan to help him overcome these and motivate him to transform his life.
How did Get Set UK help?
Abid enrolled Said in our Skills for Work ESOL course to help him improve his English language and writing skills, supported Said with creating a CV, coached him with interview techniques and created mock interview scenarios for Said to practice his interview skills. Abid’s support and guidance helped Said secure a full-time job, restoring his sense of dignity and purpose and helping him create a better life for himself and his family.
