Hamed’s success story.

When Hamed arrived in the UK from Syria, he knew that learning English was the first step toward building a new life. He joined our Refugee Employability Programme (REP), where his REP Case Manager enrolled him in face-to-face ESOL classes, designed to help refugees build their language skills, confidence, and employability.

At the start, due to Hamed’s limited English, he lacked the confidence to look for work and to integrate into his local community. By joining a group of learners who were all facing similar challenges and with the support of his Get Set UK Tutor, Ewa Haladus, he began to feel more relaxed, motivated, and able to participate in daily life.

Now, after a year of steady progress, Hamed is speaking more fluently and feels ready to take his next steps toward employment in the UK.
