Get Set for getting back into employment with the Restart Scheme.

The Restart Scheme offers tailored support to help people who’ve been out of work build confidence, overcome barriers, and take their next step into employment. At Get Set UK, we take the time to understand each individual’s needs and provide the guidance to move forward.
When 61-year-old Doina Popescu joined the Restart Scheme at our Walthamstow office, delivered in partnership with Maximus UK, she had been out of work for more than two years. She was facing several challenges, including physical health issues, low confidence, and a language barrier.
Her Employment Advisor, Simona Rubulotta, recognised Doina’s potential and put a personalised plan in place. Doina was referred to the National Careers Service team to strengthen her CV and interview skills, and enrolled in an ESOL course to improve her English and rebuild her confidence
With continued support and encouragement from Simona, Doina began attending Job Club sessions to focus on job applications and interview preparation. A job opportunity shared by our Employer Relationship Management team was the perfect fit, her CV was submitted, and after a successful interview, Doina secured a cleaning role with Just Clean.
Simona commented: “Supporting Doina on her journey has been truly rewarding. Her determination and resilience, despite the challenges she faced, have been inspiring. Seeing her grow in confidence, secure a job and regain a sense of achievement is exactly why we do what we do.”
Doina’s journey is a reminder of how the right support at the right time can help people move forward with confidence and purpose.
