What was Denzil’s situation?
Denzil Arthur, aged 33, was referred to the Restart Scheme by his National Careers Service Advisor as he has been out of work for over nine months. Denzil was previously employed as a youth support worker, but wanted a career change and wasn’t sure where to start.
How did Get Set UK help?
Shivani Sharma, his Employment Advisor, supported Denzil in updating his CV and enrolled him on our Skills for Work Customer Service course, allowing him to brush up on his customer service skills and develop his interview techniques.Shivani invited Denzil to one of our job fairs, allowing him to explore the available jobs and created a job search strategy for him to use when attending Job Club at our Walthamstow office. With Denzil’s determination and support from Shivani, he secured himself a job as a warehouse support operative at Menu Partners.
To ensure Denzil was able to travel to work we also supported him with travel expenses for the first month.
