Cailan’s successful journey on the Restart Scheme.
Restart | 21 November 2023
Cailan Cook, aged 25, was referred to the Restart Scheme by his Work Coach. When Cailan met our team at the Get Set Crawley office in June 2023, he was struggling to find employment due to a lack of motivation. He said he wasn’t ready to work and had faced some health issues, affecting his readiness and confidence in finding a suitable job.
Struggling to find employment, Cailin was keen to find a job in TV production, an industry he had previously studied in.
His Employment Advisor, Marie, explained that finding a part-time job in an alternative industry, was a good plan to gain experience and skills for him to kickstart the next phase of his longer-term plan.
Cailan had previously enjoyed Get Set’s Breakfast Clubs as it offered him an opportunity to socialise with others, which helped with his confidence. Marie supported Cailan with interview preparation and offered techniques for how to tackle pre-meeting nerves. The outcome was successful, with Cailan securing a job in retail as a Customer Service Assistant.
Marie Mandarin, Employment Advisor, commented: “I am proud of Cailan’s journey on the Restart Scheme Programme. He has achieved great things and has truly challenged himself, I wish him good luck with his future and all the best on his new journey.”
Cailan’s story is just one of many Restart Scheme success stories. Through this scheme, Get Set has provided opportunities for many individuals. Experienced Employment Advisor’s support, guide and challenge individual’s mindsets by helping them overcome barriers and fears of getting back into work.
