Esperencia’s success story.

Through the Restart Scheme, which we deliver on behalf of our partner Maximus UK in Walthamstow, we’re helping individuals overcome barriers to employment, retrain, and secure fulfilling roles.

Esperencia Shipanga, 51, was referred to Get Set UK by her local job centre as she had been out of work for over a year despite her background as an account assistant. During her initial appointment, Esperencia informed Shivani Sharma, her Employment Advisor, that she had been struggling to get past the interview stage and wanted help updating her CV and with job search strategies.

Together, they tackled these obstacles setting clear goals and a job search strategy. Shivani supported Esperencia with mock interviews and provided constructive feedback allowing Esperencia to understand how to approach interviews differently and boosting her confidence.

The result? Esperencia has secured a Finance Assistant role with Blackbridge Communications Limited and has been supported with electricity costs while she awaits her first pay check. Looking forward, Esperencia is excited to work towards an AAT Level 3 qualification, with her eye on a management role in finance.
