Ben’s success story.

Benjamin Diment, 31, joined the Restart Scheme at our Havant office in June, eager to build a career in hospitality, a sector that perfectly matched his passion for meeting people and delivering great service, while building on his existing experience. 

To help him take his next step, Ben’s Employment Advisor enrolled him in our three-week Hospitality Skills Bootcamp, delivered on behalf of the Solent Growth Partnership. This fully funded programme equips individuals with practical skills and industry-recognised certifications to step into hospitality roles with confidence. Learners cover essential topics including food hygiene, allergen control, workplace safety, customer service, and hospitality leadership. 

Ben threw himself into the Bootcamp experience, taking part in interactive workshops, one-to-one guidance sessions, hands-on activities, and mock interviews, supported by Get Set UK Tutors  

By the end of the course, Ben had successfully achieved his Level 2 Food Safety and Level 2 Allergy Awareness qualifications, developed strong communication and interview skills, and gained the confidence to apply for hospitality roles. 

Reflecting on his experience, Ben said: “The course has helped boost my confidence in the sector. I’d like to work towards the Level 3 qualification in the future. All the Get Set UK Tutors were lovely and very helpful in helping me pass the course.” 

Ben’s determination and positive attitude made him a standout participant. His journey is a brilliant example of how Skills Bootcamps can open doors, build confidence, and empower individuals to take control of their future.
