Data analysts work across all sectors, using data to answer questions and solve problems. They gather, clean, and interpret data to inform decisions, improve performance, and drive evidence-based strategies in departments like finance, marketing, HR, and beyond.

What Skills Will I Gain?

As an apprentice, you’ll develop your skills through a mix of online workshops and personalised one-to-one support with a Get Set UK Learning Development Mentor and specialist trainers, covering:

  • Understand the importance of ethical data use and report regularly to leadership, ensuring legal and responsible practices.

  • Effective communication techniques and how to tailor data presentations to meet specific stakeholder requirements.

  • Principles of sourcing data, following regulations, and applying industry best practices.

  • Structure data to support business goals and stay compliant with policies and laws.

  • Share insights from data analysis and make clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Tackle challenges in data collection while ensuring accuracy and integrity.

What to Expect from
Your Employer.

Your employer must give you the chance to regularly put your learning into practice to help you build real workplace experience and develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours you need to complete your Apprenticeship.

You will be supported with:

  • Collaborating with teams to understand reporting needs and share insights.

  • Storing and sharing data securely, following GDPR and company policies.

  • Collecting, cleaning, and managing data to ensure accuracy and integrity.

  • Identifying and assessing data sources to meet business goals.

  • Analysing data to uncover trends and support decisions.

  • Building clear, actionable dashboards and reports.

  • Validating results to maintain high data quality.

Completing Your Apprenticeship.

Every Apprenticeship ends with an End Point Assessment (EPA). This is your chance to show everything you’ve learned, the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you’ve built throughout your training. The EPA is carried out by an independent assessor and may include practical tasks, written tests, or an interview, depending on your Apprenticeship. Successfully passing your EPA proves your competence and earns you a recognised qualification, setting you up for the next stage in your career.
