& Maintenance Electrician.

Installation and Maintenance Electricians are responsible for completing tasks to specification and will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across industrial, commercial, and residential settings. They may also manage company property such as tools and vans, and will be responsible for ensuring safety, compliance, and functionality within their area of work.

Duration: Up to 48 months + 3 month assessment period

What Skills Will I Gain?

As an apprentice, you’ll develop your skills through a mix of online workshops and personalised one-to-one support with a Get Set UK Learning Development Mentor and specialist trainers, covering:

  • Understanding of and working in compliance with health, safety and various environmental and building regulations.

  • Carrying out ongoing assessment and documentation to ensure installations remain compliant and safe.

  • Maintaining and handling various electrical systems to keep them safe and functional.

  • Assessing electrical loads on new installations to ensure safe solutions are provided.

  • Planning smart, tech-friendly solutions within budget.

  • Effective communication and project management skills.

What to Expect from
Your Employer.

Your employer must give you the chance to regularly put your learning into practice to help you build real workplace experience and develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours you need to complete your Apprenticeship.

You will be supported with:

  • Conducting safety checks and risk assessments to ensure compliance and workplace safety.

  • Producing condition reports to document inspection and testing results.

  • Installing electrical systems across AC, DC, single-phase, and three-phase setups.

  • Installing smart systems such as EV chargers, solar panels, and battery storage.

  • Consulting with clients to deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs.

  • Troubleshooting and testing to identify and resolve faults.

  • Managing projects to optimise quality, efficiency, and outcomes.

Completing Your Apprenticeship.

Every Apprenticeship ends with an End Point Assessment (EPA). This is your chance to show everything you’ve learned, the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you’ve built throughout your training. The EPA is carried out by an independent assessor and may include practical tasks, written tests, or an interview, depending on your Apprenticeship. Successfully passing your EPA proves your competence and earns you a recognised qualification, setting you up for the next stage in your career.
