What was Liliana’s situation?
Liliana Tudor, 47 and a student, joined the Restart Scheme at our Walthamstow office. Having been unemployed for a year, Liliana was struggling to pay her bills and find childcare, she felt embarrassed about the position she was in and wanted help with her job search.
Her Employment Advisor, Qasim Karim, spent time with Liliana to assess her needs and find out what barriers she was facing.
How did Get Set UK help?
Qasim enrolled Liliana onto a number of workshops to boost her confidence and arranged several interviews for suitable jobs. Providing help for our participants is much more than just finding them a job; we provide additional wrap around support and spend time finding new ways to build their confidence. Qasim provided advice on finances and budgeting and helped Liliana find suitable books to support her studies. After arranging an interview with a cleaning company, Liliana finally secured the job she had been hoping for. Qasim’s help didn’t just end there, when Liliana struggled with childcare after becoming employed, Qasim found a school holiday club for her children to attend so Liliana could still go to work.
