Learn how we are assisting a participant who has been unemployed for more than 20 years in finding a new sustainable job and a better life.
Work and Health Programme | 11 October 2022
The participant is 58 years old and has not worked for more than 20 years, but he continues to receive legacy benefits. Our colleague Jennifer from our Walthamstow office, has been working with him to update his CV and discuss potential job roles. The participant would ideally like to work in music because he has some experience in the industry but is unable to make a living from it. His Employment Advisor has been assisting him in his search for suitable alternatives to help him earn money while developing a career.
He has been particularly concerned about his financial situation, and we have attempted to assist him, for example, by sending a shopping voucher to help him purchase groceries when payments were delayed. Among other things, our Work and Health team assisted the customer with his application for a Council Tax rebate, which made him very happy and relieved. He even stated that he wanted his Employment Advisor to be recognised for this.
In the future, the participant and our advisor Jennifer will continue to collaborate to overcome obstacles and help him get closer to the job market.
