How did Get Set UK help?

The participant joined the Restart Scheme in July 2022 and was looking for full-time work in the driving sector. He had some health issues that he believed would prevent him from getting a job, and he had also lost confidence. He was only applying for 7.5-ton vehicle driving jobs and getting interviews, but he was unsuccessful.

After talking with the participant about his previous experiences and future plans, our Employment Advisor, Reena, realised that there were some opportunities that had not been considered. She encouraged the participant to apply for bus driver positions and assisted him throughout the process. After a successful interview, the participant was hired by Metrobus and obtained his bus driving licence (D).

The participant began working on Monday 9^th January 2023, and is currently undergoing training at Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company Ltd. He is now more confident and happy than he was before, thanks to the assistance of his Employment Advisor.
