A success story

Donna’s success story.

Donna was struggling to find a new job to support her family, but with our guidance, she has now started a new chapter in her life.

What was Donna’s situation?

Donna was referred to the Work and Health Programme in December of last year by her Jobcentre Plus Work Coach.

During her initial appointment, the participant stated that she was looking for part-time work because she had children to care for. Because she was available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., that was the best time for her to work.

How did Get Set UK help?

Her Employment Advisor, Anindita, was extremely helpful with the creation of her CV and cover letter, job search techniques, and mock interviews. Donna had a few interviews with employers that could offer her flexible hours, such as hotels, with the help of our colleague, and we paid for the travel expenses.

The participant demonstrated a strong desire to improve her skills and find a new job in order to support her family. Donna recently accepted a position as a kitchen assistant at Bruce Grove Primary School, and she began her new job on Monday 31st October. She is grateful for all of the help she received from our colleague and the Get Set UK team, as well as for assistance with her DBS and payment of her travel expenses for her first month at work.

“Anindita helped me with everything from my CV to my travel expenses. She was always clear in her communication, and she was a great help to me during my interviews. I am very happy with her service.”
