Multiply programme helps Luke overcome his fear of numbers and find employment.

What was Luke’s situation?
Luke Rapson, aged 27, was referred to the Multiply programme by his Restart Employment Advisor and wanted help with practical numeracy and money management. When he enrolled on the course Luke explained to his 1:1 Support Coach, Edgar Muzvidzwa, that he had learning difficulties and could not handle a high amount of information and complex calculations.
How did Get Set UK help?
Listening to suggestions from Luke and his family, Edgar customised the sessions to Luke’s preferences. Luke wanted to grasp the concept of money management and be able to put this into practice in real life. Edgar adapted the training sessions and created a simplified approach which allowed Luke to learn at his own pace in a style that suited his needs.
Together Luke and Edgar became a team and through each session built up Luke’s confidence with numbers. At the end of the sessions, Luke was awarded a Practical Budgeting and Number Skills certificate. Through his newfound number confidence, Luke has now secured a part-time job.
