What Skills Will I Gain?

As an apprentice, you’ll develop your skills through a mix of online workshops and personalised one-to-one support with a Get Set UK Learning Development Mentor and specialist trainers, covering:

  • Consultancy tools like SWOT, 5 Whys, and weighted matrix to offer costed recommendations with projected impact and ROI.

  • Key theories and models behind effective adult learning, group behaviour, and learning culture.

  • Understanding your organisation’s vision, values, strategy, market, and the challenges it faces.

  • How to measure the impact, ROI, and business value of learning initiatives.

  • Change management methods and project management principles.

What to Expect from
Your Employer.

Your employer must give you the chance to regularly put your learning into practice to help you build real workplace experience and develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours you need to complete your Apprenticeship.

You will be supported with:

  • Working as an L&D business partner or consultant to build insight into existing levels of capability and identify skills gaps and risks.

  • Developing L&D, organisational development, and succession plans to address skills gaps and support talent, leadership, and business growth.

  • Influencing leaders at all levels to champion and take ownership of learning initiatives.

  • Creating and managing L&D budgets, projects, and resources to deliver effective interventions.

  • Collaborating with senior leaders to drive succession planning, talent pipelines, and organisational development.

Completing Your Apprenticeship.

Every Apprenticeship ends with an End Point Assessment (EPA). This is your chance to show everything you’ve learned, the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you’ve built throughout your training. The EPA is carried out by an independent assessor and may include practical tasks, written tests, or an interview, depending on your Apprenticeship. Successfully passing your EPA proves your competence and earns you a recognised qualification, setting you up for the next stage in your career.
