What Skills Will I Gain?

As an apprentice, you’ll develop your skills through a mix of online workshops and personalised one-to-one support with a Get Set UK Learning Development Mentor and specialist trainers, covering:

  • Creating content with design and copywriting principles, and adapting it for both online and offline channels (e.g. web content vs printed media).

  • Tools used to measure how business objectives, the wider environment, and sustainability influence marketing efforts.

  • Understanding key marketing concepts like the marketing mix, promotional mix, and how each channel works.

  • How the marketing strategy supports the business objectives, vision and goals.

  • Key brand concepts like positioning, value, identity, and tone of voice.

  • Why competitor analysis is crucial and how to carry it out effectively.

  • The purpose of a marketing plan and how to create one.

What to Expect from
Your Employer.

Your employer must give you the chance to regularly put your learning into practice to help you build real workplace experience and develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours you need to complete your Apprenticeship.

You will be supported with:

  • Planning and coordinating marketing activities to attract and retain target customer segments, using research and insights to guide decisions.

  • Crafting persuasive copy with effective copywriting techniques, aligned to brand guidelines and communication goals.

  • Developing and interpreting briefs for stakeholders, ensuring delivery meets specifications and deadlines.

  • Contributing creative ideas across video, imagery, and other formats to support campaign development.

Completing Your Apprenticeship.

Every Apprenticeship ends with an End Point Assessment (EPA). This is your chance to show everything you’ve learned, the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you’ve built throughout your training. The EPA is carried out by an independent assessor and may include practical tasks, written tests, or an interview, depending on your Apprenticeship. Successfully passing your EPA proves your competence and earns you a recognised qualification, setting you up for the next stage in your career.
