What Skills Will I Gain?

As an apprentice, you’ll develop your skills through a mix of online workshops and personalised one-to-one support with a Get Set UK Learning Development Mentor and specialist trainers, covering:

  • Effective communication techniques for different audiences, the impact of enrichment activities on learner development and the learning, assessment and feedback cycle.

  • Methods of observing, recording, and reporting learner progress, and applying teaching strategies and interventions to support diverse learning needs.

  • Setting clear learning targets, tracking progress, and supporting both academic and personal development to help learners succeed.

  • How to provide feedback in development, health & safety responsibilities, safeguarding, mental health and submitting referrals.

  • Apply learning resources, tech, and curriculum frameworks to meet outcomes.

What to Expect from
Your Employer.

Your employer must give you the chance to regularly put your learning into practice to help you build real workplace experience and develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours you need to complete your Apprenticeship.

You will be supported with:

  • Practising strategies that promote independent learning while applying behaviour management techniques in line with policies.

  • Observing, recording, and reporting on learner progress, using assessments to track and shape future learning.

  • Creating an inclusive environment where learners adapt communication and build positive relationships.

  • Accessing and using a variety of resources, adapting them to support diverse learning needs.

  • Using assessments to guide development.

Completing Your Apprenticeship.

Every Apprenticeship ends with an End Point Assessment (EPA). This is your chance to show everything you’ve learned, the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you’ve built throughout your training. The EPA is carried out by an independent assessor and may include practical tasks, written tests, or an interview, depending on your Apprenticeship. Successfully passing your EPA proves your competence and earns you a recognised qualification, setting you up for the next stage in your career.
