Get Set for Work | 30 January 2025

William Anderson, aged 30 came to Get Set UK, feeling uncertain about his next career move. With a passion for the gaming and tech industry, he was eager to break into the field but wasn’t sure how to get started or what direction to take.

Mia F., Get Set for Work Employee Consultant, worked closely with William to help him refine his career goals, focusing on the qualifications and experience he’d need to turn his passion into a reality. Together, they developed a personalised plan, and William began attending industry events to expand his network and connect with potential employers in the gaming and tech sector.

To help William gain hands-on experience, Mia found a fantastic volunteering opportunity where he could showcase his creativity and bring fresh ideas to marketing and editing. This role allowed him to explore his interests further while contributing innovative ideas to support the business.

After impressing the business owners with a great piece of work in the interview stage, William was offered the voluntary position. William’s journey shows that with the right guidance and determination, exploring new career paths can lead to exciting opportunities.
