What was their situation?
This participant was suffering from anxiety and was unsure of what she wanted because she had been out of work for a very long time. She had lost confidence in herself and had no knowledge of basic computer skills.
How did Get Set UK help?
Our advisor began meeting with the client on a regular basis to determine the type of support she required. The client possessed some transferable skills, so they decided to begin some basic IT training and build her CV to suit the role of a caregiver. We also gave her some guidelines on how to apply for jobs online and how to succeed in an interview.
After applying for jobs online with our additional help, the participant was called for an interview within a few days. She conducted an excellent interview and made a good impression, so she was hired as a live-in carer. We are proud to have helped this participant regain her confidence and quickly reintegrate into the job market. She quickly exceeded the £1k earning limit and reached the earning threshold.
The client was so grateful for our advisor’s assistance and support that she came to the office on Christmas Eve with her daughter to thank her and Get Set UK. The participant is still in contact with our advisor, and she is aware that she can contact us whenever she requires advice about her job or anything else she believes our team can help her with.
