Apprenticeships
How apprenticeships work.
During an apprenticeship, you work in a real job while also studying for a formal qualification. Typically, this involves spending one day a week at a further education college, university, or training centre.
There is no cost to you to start an apprenticeship, they are funded by the government and/or your employer.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your chosen career or advance to the next level of apprenticeship. The specifics of what you learn depend on the role you’re training for, but the approved study programme ensures that you earn a nationally recognised qualification upon completion.
