Working with his Employment Advisor, Nestor enrolled on our free Skills for Work programme, funded by the Adult Skills Fund (ASF), where he had the opportunity to complete a Skills for Work Hospitality Course. The programme covered everything from customer service techniques to Health & Safety and Food Safety awareness, giving him the tools and industry insight he needed to find a job in the hospitality industry.

Under the guidance of his Get Set UK tutor, Mark Phoenix (Published Author) and the support of his fellow students, Nestor’s confidence began to grow. Mark helped him reshape his mindset, coached him on interview techniques, and encouraged him to believe in his potential.

Working closely with our partners Employment4ALL Ltd (CIC), Janine Adeleke Alcantara identified several opportunities for Nestor, giving him the chance to attend multiple hospitality interviews and showcase his new skills, knowledge, and positive attitude.

Reflecting on his experience, Nestor shared: “I came onto the course with low expectations, but they have been exceeded. I’m now a different person, motivated, confident, and back on track. I’m expecting more from myself and feel empowered to realise I’m in charge of my future.”

His tutor, Mark Phoenix, added: “Nestor’s confidence has transformed. He now approaches the future with optimism and enthusiasm, supported by Employment4All and his peers.”
