The National Careers Service provides free, professional careers information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions about learning, training and work at any stage of your career. Skilled Careers Advisers can provide support around skills assessments, finding a job, training courses, interview skills and more.

Kickstart your career by boosting your skills and increase your chances of finding a job. Skills for Work is a free training programme providing courses for six key professions; Customer Service, Teaching Assistants, Health & Social Care, Creative Skills, Digital Skills, and Build & Construction. We also offer Skills Bootcamps in various digital marketing topics which can help you kickstart a career in this exciting industry.

I’m employed and want to boost my skills.
Develop your career further through an Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are open to all individuals aged 16 and over, whether you’re a school leaver and starting your first job or are currently employed and looking to progress your career within your current organisation.
Alternatively boost your skills through our Skills for Work training programmes, covering everything from Teaching Assistant to Building & Construction, from Levels 1-3. Our free training programmes includes functional skills for Maths, English and basic IT skills. We also offer ESOL courses and free numeracy training through Multiply, to help you boost maths skills and become more confident with numbers.
