The Working Well Service, our health division, ran the Adult Mental Health First Aid course for Comic Relief in March. They are an established charity with a vision of a just world free of poverty, created in 1985 by Richard Curtis and Lenny Henry in response to the Ethiopian famine. The idea behind Comic Relief was to get British comedians to make the public laugh while raising funds to help people all over the world and in the United Kingdom. They held the first Red Nose Day in 1988.
The course participants loved the opportunity to learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues and how to effectively guide a person towards the right mental health support from the instructor, Andy Flockton. The Working Well Service team has received some fantastic feedback.
Many thanks to Comic Relief and we look forward to returning soon!
